Christopher Hitchens Endorses Obama

I love reading Hitchens. There's no one else out there who can phrase things so starkly and yet elegantly. He recently wrote a column endorsing Obama for president, which, for those familiar with Hitchens' more conservative leanings, may be surprising. But in reality, his endorsement is more a repudiation of McCain/Palin than it is an actual endorsement of Obama, whom he describes as "greatly overrated". He has some pretty harsh criticisms of McCain and Palin and comes to this conclusion:
It therefore seems to me that the Republican Party has invited not just defeat but discredit this year, and that both its nominees for the highest offices in the land should be decisively repudiated, along with any senators, congressmen, and governors who endorse them.
